§ 2-134. Effort to locate owner prior to sale.

  • The county will make an effort to find the true owner of any article of personal property coming into its possession. If the owner can be found, the county will release the personal property to the owner. If the true owner of the article is not found, the county will proceed to sell, destroy or retain the personal property in the manner provided in state law and in this article.
