§ 7-31.2. Demolition permits.

  • (a)

    A demolition site plan shall be submitted as part of the permit application package. The demolition site plan shall depict the trees, structures, and impervious surfaces to be removed; location and size of all trees greater than six (6) inches DBH; construction exits; tree-save areas; and best management practices for erosion control. Additionally, no demolition permit for a single-family detached residence shall be issued in a residential zoning district unless the applicant includes the original threshold elevation (if any) measured and certified by a licensed surveyor or engineer.

    (b)

    Only dead, diseased, or hazardous trees, as determined by a certified arborist, may be removed pursuant to a demolition permit.

    (c)

    An excavation site plan shall be submitted as part of the demolition permit application package when the purpose of the excavation is to locate current sewer lines in conjunction with an application for a variance from the front-door threshold elevation pursuant to section 27-749. The excavation site plan shall depict the boundaries of areas to be excavated, locations of storage areas for excavated materials, the location of structures and impervious surfaces, the location and size of all trees greater than six (6) inches DBH in the footprint of the planned excavation, tree-save areas and best management practices for erosion control.
