§ 6-84. Landings and takeoffs generally.

  • (a)

    Fixed-wing aircraft will land and take off on runways only as instructed by the control tower. All aircraft must have a two-way radio capable of communicating with the control tower.

    (b)

    Procedures to be used when landing and taking off are as follows:

    (1)

    Landing aircraft shall maintain traffic pattern altitude until turning onto base leg prior to commencing final approach.

    (2)

    Departing aircraft shall climb out straight ahead using such techniques as are appropriate to reach an altitude of five hundred (500) feet before making a turn to depart the traffic pattern.
