§ 14-286. Reservation of sites for civic uses.

  • A developer may reserve and offer property within a subdivision as a site for a civic use, including but not limited to public schools, fire stations, police stations, or recreation centers. The developer shall allow a minimum period of one (1) year from the date of submittal of submittal of the preliminary plat during which time the proper authorities may authorize acquisition of the property for its intended civic purposes. If the reserved site has not been authorized for acquisition by the proper authorities within one (1) year, the reservation shall terminate unless extended by the developer. If not extended, development of the formerly reserved site must follow the standard plat approval process. An amended final plat for the entire subdivision shall then be processed in the required manner when submitted by the developer.
