§ 13-139. State-issued tag, certificate of inoculation.

  • (a)

    Any person who owns, keeps, maintains or harbors any dog or cat, age three (3) months or over, shall obtain a Georgia Department of Human Resources issued numbered tag and certificate of inoculation in accordance with chapter 5 of this Code. The certificate shall include the tag number and shall be signed by a veterinarian. The numbered tag so issued shall be attached to a collar or harness which shall be worn by the dog or cat at all times.

    (b)

    It shall be the duty of any veterinarian issuing tags and certificates of inoculation to provide a copy of the registration certificate to the animal control center within forty-five (45) days of the date of inoculation.
