§ 176. Interim appointments or elections.

  • In the event a vacancy occurs in the office of any appointed or elected member before the expiration of his or her term by removal, death, resignation, or otherwise, the respective appointing or electing authority shall appoint or elect a successor to serve for the remainder of the unexpired term. The clerk of the superior court shall be notified of interim appointments or elections and record and certify such appointments or elections in the same manner as the regular appointment or election of members.
