§ 12. Recorder's court.

  • The recorder's court is created by state law and is the court of original jurisdiction in cases involving county ordinances and regulations. As such, the court disposes of all cases of county traffic, zoning and building ordinance violations in the unincorporated portions of the county. The recorder's court processes, assesses fines, holds trials and hearings, collects fines, issues bench warrants, or otherwise disposes of the cases and maintains court records for the county, MARTA, and Emory police department's traffic, parking and ordinance citations, Georgia state patrol traffic citations, and ordinance violation citations issued by various county departments.
